13/5/18

On May 13th I took my family and I to Malvern flower show for my dads Birthday. The show ground was as nice as expected and the sun was shining so it was a win/win. There must have been thousands of people walking around the place and the number of ice cream vans that were dotted about was crazy! The amount of crafts that were there compared to the flowers were overwhelming And I did pick myself up a handmade silver hammered ring which was beautiful. I took loads of photos of the beautiful displays and thought id share them here with you all (A little late I must admit) but here they are.

Have you been to the Malvern flower show?

Nyx, a brand I don't use very often but if you've been here for a
while you'll know I love to find a good deal in B&M and after
spotting the powder foundation I knew I had to give it a try before
I went to buy the urban decay one, which I also know zero
to nothing about and I think the only other thing by NYX that
I own is a lipstick so this was a whole new experience for me. I
got mine in the shade 'natural' due to there only being two shades
in B&M which was a dark shade and a natural shade. Pretty
disappointing due to the bargin of £4.99 when its £10.50 in boots.

So it all started from the 9 hour shifts at work where by lunch time I have got black under my eyes from my mascara. I just wanted a powder with a sponge that I could use quickly at work to get rid of the black mascara so I could look a little less of a mess at work.

I've been using the product for over a month now to the point that the powder has smashed into smithereens but I can say that it does exactly what I wanted it to do. I do only wear a light foundation day to day so I'm glad I haven't got an issue of it making my base look cakey or over done. It is actually an asset to my makeup bag. It's matte which I mean is a obvious due to the name and although it might not be for everyone due to it not being like a full coverage foundation it is ideal for me, someone that likes a little coverage.

The product its self is a wonderful little compact, it opens up into town sections, the top is the powder and the bottom sits the sponge, with a mirror on the lid. SO HELPFUL! The foundation glides on nicely with the sponge, which I love. It would also work well with a brush if you didn't want such a thick lick swipe and go kind of look. (which is what gives me the good coverage). I understand completely that this is supposed to be used on its own as a foundation but I love using it over mine or to matte out my face once I'm a little bit shiny. The only issue with this is that like I mentioned before the powder smashed, because I was down to pan after a month or so. If I had paid over £10 for this I defiantly wouldn't be happy about that!

Over all I do like the product, I don't know how it compares to others as this is the only powder foundation I've tried but this product or one similar will be keeping me company in my make up bag.

Have you tried a powder foundation? If you haven't would you?

It was such a lovely day to take a day trip to the butterfly zoo in wye valley, A place I had never been before. And I'm pleased to say that I as well as my niece and nephew loved it.

The overall price of the place was good for what we got to do, it worked out at £19.50 for one adult and two children for all day access to the butterfly zoo and the hedge maze and a round of mini golf for us all and I think In the end I only paid £1 for parking due to the £2 refund they gave me once I had brought my tickets.

The whole place was set up really well and everything in and around the car park. The butterfly zoo was the other side of the garden centre and was really cool to walk around and see the different butterfly species, learn about them and read all the information that was jotted around inside. My nephew loved reading all the signs, even if he was breaking a sweat.

We next moved on to the mini golf, which was so fun for me and my niece and nephew because we hadn't played it before, I don't have anything to compare it to but I enjoyed it a lot. Running along side of the mini golf was a river with a cute little bridge that lead to the hedge maze. We were met by a lovely chap who firstly asked if we had been here before or not and then went on to inform us that the hedge maze was planted over 30 years ago by him and his brother and told us all sorts of games we could play within the maze.

I captured some photos of the beautiful maze and the area around it. Once I finally found my way to the middle after getting lost for a while and playing hide and seek for what felt like forever I discovered this beautiful stone seated area.

Along the river were some picnic benches and the toilet blocks, a shop and a café which was so lovely to see. We grabbed an ice cream and sat for a while in the sun before we headed home. It was so nice and peaceful. I would defiantly recommend this wonderful attraction. We had so much fun and for us traveling 50 mins out of town was defiantly worth it.

Link to there site if you want to check them out for yourself.

The conceal and define concealer has a matte finish and as far as I know is full coverage, it comes in 18 different shades and has a mix of different undertones so I think it's pretty good for almost everyone. It is also marketed as the perfect product for concealing and contouring, which I have not tried but I defiantly should!

I know I'm a little late to the party, but gosh who knew this was going to be so hard to get your hands on! I must say I've seen so many beauty guru's rant and rave about how amazing this was and how much of a good dupe it was to tarts shape tape concealer, but ive never tried the tape shape so I wouldn't know about that in fact if I'm completely honest with you I'm not one for concealer, I don't wear it and I don't really own it, not because I don't like it but just because I've not found one that really works for me and I tend to use very light weight foundation.

I liked this product right from the get go. Even thought it is full coverage, and I wouldn't normally go for that. Its great for the eye shadow base, the under eye high light and the cover up of spots oh and the define of the brow. Just what I need!! I've used it for all four just to try it out and I also had a bit of a spot that this covered right up. I was also pretty amazed at how flawless it looks even before I add the powder. The wear is also amazing.

We have had a little bit of heat recently and I Hate wearing make up in the sun so this one has been perfect just to cover a little and keep my skin looking even, and not one single issue with it sliding off my nose ect (which I struggle with a lot). For the price of the product being £4 I don't think I can love it anymore than I already do. Let me know what you think of the product, id love to know thoughts!!

I think when it comes to followers I struggle most with the "if you follow me ill follow you" thing and it just seems to keep clogging up my feed with things I'm not exactly inspired by, and I mean I know my feed isn't as inspiring as id like. I also know that having an inspiring feed right now is the number one thing with everyone and I am A ok with that.

My Instagram is pretty private and I don't really post any blog related stuff (which maybe I should change a little). I do on the other hand follow a lot of bloggers and vloggers, writers and influencers. I also follow a lot of body positive pages and health pages. I chose to start unfollowing pages simply because these amazing people I follow and admire so much are getting lost in the accounts I only follow because I felt like I had to. you know the ones who follow for a follow, the ones you followed way back in 2013 and haven't be active since, also the people I used to go to school with, people that trigger me and make me feel a certain way about myself. I'm slowly saying by to them all and I don't feel the little bit bad. Oh and yes I know I will be loosing a lot of followers and my count will go down and that is bad for me due to my blog but I don't care that much.

is your Instagram as cluttered as mine is?

If you haven't heard of the vice lipstick pallet then where have you been? living under a rock? I mean maybe that's a bit harsh, but I am defiantly a big Urban decay fan so I keep up to date on all the new stuff ( or mostly the new stuff ) I heard about a lipstick pallet a year or so ago and couldn't find a thing, then it just so happened that one day while in Debenhams I walked passed and spotted it. Did I buy iit right there and then? NOPE. but I did buy it for my birthday back in October.

As like the rest of the Urban decay pallets this one also consists of 12 shades and a brush ranging from nudes and darker shades with a normal shade and a shimmer one above.

Ok so the last two months of owning this beauty I've used it a few different times for a few different events/days out and I'm pretty much in love, not just with the colours they put in the pallet, but the feel and consistency too. I'm just guessing when I say this but I think these are classed as comfort matte lip colours due to the matte effect but also the lack of dry lips and the soft feel it gives too. I know for sure that normal matte lipstick does not feel like this, the only issue I will ever find with comfort mattes are do they really last? Now that Is something that will differ for everyone depending on how drying your lips are naturally and the matter of priming and so on.

The niceness of blending the colours, is just amazing with the basic shades as well as the shimmer ones, they do not differ in quality or consistency. I really love the two nudes right now both 'tame', and 'backtalk', so much so I brought 'backtalk' in full size so I can wear it to work. YAY!!
As far as the brush goes, its something different that I have not used nor tried before, but it looks funky and I love it.

What urban decay lipsticks have you tried out?
