Motivational Monday | Sprinkle of Glitter blog

Most of the time in life, it seems normal to spend vast amounts of time planning and mapping out our lives and decided what we want to do and where we want to be in 5 or 10 years time. I do this my self, for a very long time, in fact since i was little it was all i ever did, get good grades in school, go to art college, get into uni, move away, find a nice man, buy a house, get married, and live happy ever after.

Sometimes we make plans and then work as hard as we can to achieve them. Sometimes they fall apart and we are beside ourselves because that's the only thing that we have ever wanted. In times like these it can feel like things are falling apart and you have no options left. I know how this feels and it can stress you out, and keep you up at night but i also know it is not necessary to feel this way. There are other options, there are other paths you can take, you just need to figure them out.

You need to keep in mind that 'Other path' is not the same as a 'wrong path'. It is easy to feel that if you change your path you may be making a mistake, yet in fact you are just changing your direction, but you are still carrying on your journey, with all the ups and down, winds and twists that life puts in your way.

Its OK to worry a little over which direction you should take in your life, as long as you do keep moving forward, your only mistake would be stopping.
'plan B' is OK and if that doesn't work out then there's C D E F G H I.... and so on.

Keep going, you will soon work out what you want to do, and where you want to go.

Ella Eyre

I fell in love with this artist while dusting (I listen to music channels at the same time) her new release came on called come back, and as soon as i heard it i loved the tune and her voice too, But also how strong she comes across in it.

The song is based around an ex boyfriend that lied and cheated on her. She is singing about how he played her, and came running back to her in the end.
In the video she goes to his house and destroys the whole place, and then sets his car on fire. Now I'm not saying this is a good thing to do, but recently my relationship ended, and this video cheered me up loads, I'd love to do this to his flat.

Shes got so much attitude and confidence its crazy. She is beautiful  and also guys... HER VOICE.

Check it out for yourself and let me know what you think?

Photography has always been something i have loved, and i had always hated editing because i felt like taking a good photo has nothing to do with editing, so i never edited anything i did though out 2 years, until recently.

I took this photo Monday night while out with my friend Becky, The sky lit up and it looked amazing, so i couldn't not take a photo of it. In fact i think i have a problem with the sky, because i fall in love every single time i take a picture, its always a different colour or the clouds are different, and in a way it reminds me of people, because even though all the clouds are different, there are people that love them, there are people hat love the different shade of colour's that flow though the sky. just like people.

To begin with i thought the original was good but then i played around editing it seeing what i could do with the brightness ect.
The first one being the original and the bottom two are edits that i did, one lighter than the other.

I have fallen in love with editing simply because you can turn a picture into something completely different, i mean in the bottom picture the trees look more like silhouettes and the sky looks different colours.
I'd love to hear what you guys have to say.
which one you like most?

Enjoy,

Who doesn't love to add a bit of glitter in their life!

Something I've wanted to try for a while is these glitter jars, i must admit mine do not look as perfect as the other DIY's I've seen but hay ho, here's my take on this simple DIY.
And gosh I've loved using these!

You will need:
Glitter (any colour's you wish)
Glue
Masking tape

The best thing to do first is to decide how much of your jar you will be covering and what patterns you want to put on to the glass. Also the colour's you are going to use, and make sure they are in reach.

Cover the areas you don't want covered in glitter, in masking tape to insure no glitter goes on to that spot. then plaster it in glue, you can use any glue for this but i found PVA glue was best.

Cover the glued areas with the glitter, making sure that you cover all of the glue so that its not patchy once finished. Shake it off so that you are able to put the access glitter back into the tub or container that it came in. Leave it to dry before taking off the masking tape as it will still be sticky at this stage. Once dry peel off the masking tape, and boom. there you go. you have your own glitter jars.

I'm now using mine for my make-up brushes and hair brushes. I love that it adds a bit of glitz to my room.
Keep sparkling

The picture speaks for its self really but remember, Just because your problems may not be as bad as someone else's does not mean that they do not matter.

What ever you do, do not second guess yourself, if you have a problem don't be scared to talk about it, Even if it is little and doesn't seem as bad as someone else's problem. If it's making you stressed or keeping you up at night, it is a issue worth talking about.

Keep smiling

Water colour crafts have always been a favorite of mine. Mainly because they are simple yet look pretty amazing. I'm not a great painter, in fact i seem to mess up anytime i try and paint, but water colour's are very hard to mess up! Here are a few water colour inspired projects that i will be trying very soon.

1. Water colour makeup brush jars

2. Water colour votives

3. Water colour clock

4. Dip Dyed place mats

These are all amazing, I'm in love with all the water colour crafts I've seen recently.

Have you tried any water colour crafts recently?

Sadly no motivation Monday today, but i do have a good reason!
Lillieepad Is 6 months old! It honestly feels like I've been blogging for so much longer. When i first started my blog i didn't realise how much it would mean to me, but i find my self doing something blog related every single day! I feel like from beginning and knowing nothing about blogging and the blogging community to 6 months down the line, i have picked up a few things, so here we go, 6 lessons i have learnt in 6 months.

1.start for the right reason - I think this is one of the most important thing to remember. If you want to start a blog, work out why, if its for making money or getting free items then its clearly the wrong reason. I started my blog because I wanted to have a place of my own, i wanted to write, gain confidence and meet new people. I feel like if i gain anything else from this then it is a bonus.

2. Make time - I think this is one of the hardest things to do, but the most important. ALWAYS make time for your blog. For me this is pretty easy, because i used to have lots of spare time where i would just lounge around watching t.v not really doing much at all. Where as now, I'm always doing something blog related, some times on pintrest getting new ideas, or reading other bloggers posts (most the time where i get my inspiration from) and then other times I'm writing, because i like to post on specific days and i like to have my post written before hand, some times writing a day before its going up is easier so that you know you have it done and don't have to worry about it.

3. Stay inspired - Staying inspired is a up and down thing for me, sometime i find something that inspires me every day and then other times i have to ask my mum for help, to see if shes found any designers she likes and she ALWAYS sends me pins to inspire me. I also like to keep a folder of pictures that inspire me so i can flick though when i need it, and i also have my wardrobe door covered in photos that i think are amazing and colour's and drawings and designers sketches that keeps me inspired too! Sometimes writers block is the worse, You want to write but have no idea what you post with this problem i find that keeping a list of topics or ideas you want to cover is most important and will help you out when ever you get stuck.

4. Followers/page views - DON'T over think this! Even though it is a nice feeling when ever someone new follows you or you have loads more page views, it is very easy to let this over take your blog. Don't let one follower effect how you feel about blogging. I've learnt that you cant always make everyone happy, so focus on what you love and worry less about other people! Just stick to what you love and the right people will follow you!

5. Stay connected - Staying connected is also another really important tip, and I've found that if you don't stay connected no ones going to know who you are, or anything about your blog. I've tried to use my social media as much as i can when it involves my blog. I also find that commenting on other bloggers posts that people can find your blog that way too, plus everyone loves some feedback!

6. Post post post!! - With a blog it is so important to make sure you post often. I feel like when i was posting everyday, was the time that i got my most views and comments because there was something new to read everyday. Another important thing is to make a schedule, I normally post 4 times a week, Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 8pm. I have found that if you post on a schedule then your followers will know when to check your blog, and when your next post is likely to be, Bloglovin is also a good way to keep track of your favorite blogs.

There are lots more tips i could give, but here is 6, I hope to be blogging for a log time, and no doubt i will learn a lot more lessons and tips i could give you.

Keep blogging

The sky has all ways been something i loved. Night or day. The clouds are a wonderful thing to look at, as well as the stars.

When ever the clouds turn a different colour or the sky is not a normal shade of blue i always pull out my camera and capture a few amazing photos that i can edit or look back on in the future.

The point of this post is just to show you a few of the wonderful images i took mid last week and loved.

enjoy

For this week i wanted to find a quote to do with changing dreams. I fell in love with this quote because it is true for me right now. I feel like some times on the way to your dream, just like you your dream changes.

I have recently broke up with my boyfriend, and dropped out of college. I came to the conclusion to drop out of college because it was no longer what i wanted to do, My anxiety has been eating away at me and i didn't feel like i could do something i wasn't 100% wanting to do, let alone want to put my self though another year of college. College was never somewhere i was happy, and i hated going. I officially dropped out of college today, and even though my dad is a bit mad because i still cant find a job, i feel like it is ok.

Why do something that doesn't make you happy?
Why put your self though something that your going to hate?

Since i was about 12 years old i wanted to be a fashion designer, i wanted to be in the fashion industry go to uni, and move to London and that was the dream i always had. I'm now a month away from being 19 and its starting to change, i mean I've wanted to move to Brighton for the last 3 years, and i now longer feel like uni is for me. I don't really know what i want to do at the moment, but i know that my dream is no longer my dream and that is ok.

I hope that if anyone is in the same place as i am, then don't worry, because things will come together soon. And its okay to find a different dream it really is.

Spring 2015

Tadashi Shoji is a japan born but L.A based designer.

For the next 31 years Tadashi His brad has continued to thrive. Tadashi Shoji collections are globally recognized and loved by devoted woman ranging from working mums to red carpet celebrities. The one thing i loved about his collections are that they also have a plus size range. Women regardless of shape or size are inspired to showcase them selves and wear his designs with confidence.

Tadashi Shoji's Spring 2015 collection caught my eye at New York fashion week because of the line and symmetry he has used within his designs, that create a very strong and powerful silhouette! I also love how his designs are fierce and show off the shoulders. I feel that the netting on the shoulders and around the bottom area of the dress gives that girly touch, as well as the floral patter used with out the collection.

I have only just really started to look into this collection, but i would love to see if he has made any of this dresses into a plus size range too.

One of my favorite things of the year has started, and I'm honestly so excited!! I'm thrilled about the upcoming weeks of fashion packed excitement! And i will be posting about all of my favorite designers and their wonderful fashion lines for 2015.
New York fashion week started this week and i have been catching some of it live, and I hope one day i wont be sat watching it from behind my computer screen.

One of the designers that first caught my eye was Jay Godfrey, a New York based designer. His collection Is very simple, yet edgy at the same time. Using the base colour as black he adds his splash of colour using sequins. His designs are inspired by the chic New York woman, and i love how he has captured that blending it with the fashion-forward and glamorous woman to create contemporary dresses and separates that accentuates the female figure.

September Is basically the first month of Autumn, The weather starts to turn, and gets colder, and i don't know about you but it is one of my favorite times of the year. I get to snuggle up in a big baggy jumper, light a few candles and watch a film. September is kind of a cross over period, its not quite summer any more, but its only just Autumn. Some days are sunny, some are raining, and some are freezing cold. So every day is different but your autumn wardrobe comes out, and i love Autumn/Winter fashion.
I also cant wait for September to be over and to get into October!
But heres a few things i personally like about September.
1. Taking LOTS of pictures
2. Slouchy Jumpers
3. Hand crochet scarfs
4. Hot chocolate
5. S'mores
6. Open fires
7. Saturday night tv!
8. Autumn/Winter fashion
9. Early nights with a book
10. The early nights

Maybe a few of you like some of the same things as me?
Enjoy your September as much as i will!

When i first saw this quote, i couldn't stop looking at it, i don't know what it was about it but for some reason little quotes like this get to me.
This is a choice, you can chose to remember the good and forget the bad, just like you can chose to remember the bad and forget the good. That made me realise that's the way i want to live, I want to highlight the good and forget the bad. Experience it all, learn from everything i do, everything that happens to me will either be a good thing or a bad one, and i can learn a lesson from it all. And the most important thing is that i need to remember the good things..

We were together...
I forgot the rest...
